"Empowering Tennessee Families with Autism Resources"
Welcome to ASD in Tennessee!
Roughly 1 in every 36 children in the state of Tennesse is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Receiving this diagnosis can be intensely overwhelming for families. Unfortunately most families are given the diagnosis with little direction or support.
I am Meredith, a mom of two amazing children. When my son, Max, was two, my husband and I noticed he was regressing in his language skills. He began avoiding eye contact and using loud noises to calm himself. We knew something was different. After much resistance from our pediatrician, we sought out a child psychologist. We finally got an autism diagnosis by Maxwell's third birthday.
When I think back to those initial weeks and months, I remember feeling completely lost. I knew he needed intervention, but had no idea where to turn. I have spent the last several years keeping notes on all the helpful resources I discovered. I decided it was time to put all of this into action. It was from this realization that ASD in Tennessee was born. My hope is that if you are here, you will find at least one thing that makes the autism journey easier for your family.
